{"id":328,"date":"2026-05-20T17:33:33","date_gmt":"2026-05-20T15:33:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/euindopac.fr\/?page_id=328"},"modified":"2026-05-20T18:24:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-20T16:24:14","slug":"home-page","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/euindopac.fr\/","title":{"rendered":"Home page"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>EUIndoPac Jean Monnet University Teaching Module<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-gray-background-color has-background\">Call: ERASMUS-JMO-2023-HEI-TCH-RSCH<br>Type of Action: ERASMUS-LS<br>Acronym: EUIndoPac<br>Duration: 36 months<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">EU and Indo-Pacific: Sustainability, Security and Trade<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>EUIndoPac Jean Monnet Module introduces an interdisciplinary (law and policy) teaching program on EU\u2019s engagement in the Indo-Pacific. The program evolves around three key themes relevant for the strengthening of the EU\u2019s role in this region: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>(1) improving sustainability;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(2) enhancing security;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(3) promoting free and fair trade. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Module is based at the Universit\u00e9 Saint-Louis\u2013Bruxelles (USL-B) and is delivered as an intensive winter\/summer school. It relies on the expertise of two lead lecturers with extensive competence in EU and international law and policy and practical experience in the Indo-Pacific. It primarily targets students at the USL-B in Laws, Political Sciences, and European Studies and at the University of Canberra (UC). Secondary target audience involves civil society, policymakers, and students who cannot otherwise access EU studies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aims are threefold : (1) improve student knowledge on EU regulatory responses to the environmental and climate crises and related security issues in the Indo-Pacific, particularly focusing on trade and global supply chains, green investment, security and ocean governance, proper understanding of which is becoming increasingly important given the EU\u2019s ambitious agenda for the Indo-Pacific; (2) incorporate advanced higher education pedagogy in USL-B; (3) promote trans-national cooperation, through student exchange and cooperation between universities, giving foreign students the opportunity to get acquainted with the EU. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Module will start in academic year 2023\/24 and will deliver 153 hours in total over three years (2024-2027). It will support the introduction of a new perspective on the study of the EU in the Indo-Pacific in the field of European studies in Europe. By encompassing trans-national cooperation and transdisciplinary approach (environmental science, law and economics, climate regulation, trade, and investment law), this Module will yield significant lessons for students and policymakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/euindopac.fr\/index.php\/teaching-program\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"39\">Teaching Activities<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/euindopac.fr\/index.php\/speakers\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"9\">Teaching Staff<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-light-gray-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p>The EUIndoPac Jean Monnet Teaching Module (40 hours) offers a unique way to learn about the EU\u2019s policy and legal developments impacting the Indo-Pacific region. This crash course aims at preparing a new generation of law and policy students to understand the complexities of the EU\u2019s evolving global role and its impact on the Indo-Pacific region. The Module is delivered by UCLouvain, IEE St Louis (<em>180 in QS World University)<\/em> and the European Institute for Asian Studies EIAS (<em>a major policy think-tank in Brussels<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This crash course evolves around four key regulatory areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Promotion of free, fair and sustainable trade through bilateral treaties;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>EU strategic autonomy and screening of foreign investments;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sustainability in regulating trade in products and commodities;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>EU digital strategy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Module shall enable students to grasp the main political and legal issues related to the functioning of the EU and its external role in the Indo-Pacific.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>The EU and the Indo-Pacific Region. timing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Module will take place as a presential and online teaching program at UCLouvain (QS 180 World University Ranking), Saint-Louis campus in center Brussels, capital of the EU, and will be delivered as an intensive interactive unit (40 hours) 3 to 8 June 2024 between 09 am to noon Brussels time (CET), plus 2 1\/2 hours seminars in the afternoons).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure
